Did you cheat?
In the seminary, I was taught how to stand for what is right.... and not to compromise anything that's the opposite. Christian values such as respect for the rights of others... telling the truth... and to the point of stupidity and craziness... dying for it... sabi nga nila fools for Christ... were impregnated and imbibed everyday through masses, rosaries, spiritual readings, morning/evening prayers and meditation...
When I went out... it was a different ballgame. Sabi nila if there are two evils choose the lesser one... tanong ko parati... meron naman sigurong two or more better options... hindi lang ipinepresenta sa yo. And it's true... we all have options in different scenarios. It's like martial arts... there are many ways to put down your opponent... In music... there many ways to interpret a song... or in gardening so many ways to kill worms and weeds. There are always options... the best and possible options. It's not one but two or more.
Sa isang meeting ang mga Pinoy mahilig makipag debate dahil most attendees stops in problem definition... some would push for the only option he can think of kasi gusto nyang sumipsip at magpapogi sa bosing... then a long debate starts... yung humihinto sa problem definition... sinisisi si ganyan at si ganon... yung nakapag isip ng kai sa isang solusyon... sasabihin "ito na! First... you define the problem... and go on with the definition of the desired output... tapos each one would think of solutions to the problem and the best possible courses of action for the desired output...
Best possible courses of Action (that i can think of):
1. Magkaroon ng tamang hearing at isang fair trial. She should answer the question... Nandaya ka ba o hinde?
Pinoys are presented with "factual lies"... saying that she is the only option for the Pinoys... nakow... please... don't be Pinoys for a time... think like expatriates... don't compromise anything that's good for something that appears to be good. Sabi nga ni Aunt May kay Spiderman sa Spiderman 2... "sometimes we need to be steady."
From where I came from (seminary) we value honor... even if it takes some immortal time to wait for the right thing without compromising your values we were taught to be patient... We value the rights of others... even if most of us might have voted for gloria we respect the rule of law... the process of democracy... that is why i'd like to think that most of us believe that Gloria has to answer the big question... "Did you cheat?"
